PERFORMANCE OF AN EPOXY-FILLER-MODIFIED BAMBOO-REINFORCED CONCRETE SLAB

The necessity for a transition in the building industry towards sustainability has made bamboo-based construction more prevalent recent decades. This paper demonstrates development and performance evaluation of newly developed cementitious composite slab panel containing nano-basalt powder (nBP) modified epoxy-coated bamboo as reinforcement. experimental research conducted on six panels ((600 × 450 50) mm), each having different reinforcement type, demonstrated that one with nBP-modified showed significantly improved flexural by exhibiting better bonding characteristics. When compared to uncoated bamboo-reinforced slab, bond strength rose about 32 %, around 5.65 MPa. A 73 MPa 6.26 were attained due use reinforcements glass wrapping (nBGS). Comparing nBGS conventional cement concrete revealed an increase load-carrying capability nearly 89 %.
